A man who suffered a hit and run injury receives £4.3 million settlement
A man to who suffered a traumatic brain injury due to a hit and run has received £4.3 million in compensation, with support from law firm Slater and Gordon.
The man, in his early 20s, was cycling home when he was struck unconscious by a car in 2019, leaving him with a bleed to the brain and multiple broken bones across his body.
After retrieving CCTV footage of the crash, the police were able to identify the car owner, leading to a prison sentence for the driver after being charged with dangerous driving and failure to stop at a road traffic collision.
However, the horrific ordeal had caused the man to face physical and psychological challenges during his recovery, leading him to reach out to Slater and Gordon.
A few years on, serious injury specialists have been able to help the man to secure a seven-figure settlement and essential rehabilitative support. The man was also given further access to psychological and physical therapy through the law firm and their charity partners.
Richard Crabtree, Principal Lawyer and specialist in serious injury claims, alongside his team supported the man in his claim.
“We cannot imagine the trauma that he has faced and the effect it has had on his life.
“The man has had to spend the past few years recovering physically and emotionally from this life-changing event.”
Slater and Gordon’s charity partners work closely with the law firm to support those affected by road collisions such as Brake and Aftermath Support.
“The team at Slater and Gordon are committed to being there every step of the way, enabling him to access the highest standards of rehabilitation and providing appropriate resources.
“We are proud to have assisted in securing this settlement for our client, knowing that it will greatly impact his life and help him look to the future.”
