Man suffers serious injuries in late-night car collision
A young man has been left battling with serious physical and psychological injuries after a tragic road collision that claimed the life of his friend.
The man was travelling home with a group of friends after a night out in December 2023 when the car was involved in a collision.
He was a back seat passenger who was wearing his seat belt, the man suffered a number of serious injuries on impact, including a dislocated pelvis and a broken leg, both of which required surgery.
He also suffered lacerations to his kidney and a broken jaw, and was deeply traumatised as a result of the late-night collision.
The man turned to serious injury specialists at Slater and Gordon for support after the collision. With the law firm’s support, he has fought to overcome his physical injuries as well as the psychological impact.
In the past year, the support of Slater and Gordon has ensured a specialist case manager was appointed to support the man’s ongoing recovery, as well as enabling access to a raft of therapies including physiotherapy and psychological support.
While he continues to battle issues with his mobility, as well as ongoing issues with his trauma, he is making progress through his bespoke package of rehabilitation.
Gulderen Salih, senior associate at Slater and Gordon, who is supporting the man in his claim, said: “Our client was involved in the most horrific incident, which not only led to him being seriously injured but also caused deep psychological trauma. This has been a hugely difficult past year for him and he has battled hard to rebuild his life after what happened.
“His ongoing recovery has been supported by the appointment of a case manager, as well as access to specialist therapies, which will help both his mental and physical progress. Our involvement meant that these interventions were actioned quickly and such bespoke rehabilitation at an early stage can be very significant in his progress and recovery in the long-term.
“We will continue to support him as his claim progresses and will ultimately secure the best possible settlement for him and his circumstances.”
