Get to know Sinead Ducrotoy

I joined Slater and Gordon in 2004 shortly after qualifying as a Solicitor. I have specialised in Personal Injury law for the past 20 years.

My extensive experience involves claims that arise as a result of road traffic accidents, animal claims, accidents in public and accidents at work.

My expertise is in helping clients (adults and children) who have suffered serious life changing injuries including complicated fractures, head and brain injuries, amputations,, scarring and debilitating psychological injuries. I have also dealt with a lot of accidents claims that have sadly resulted in a fatality.

My work now is mainly focused on accidents at work and in the public domain. I feel passionately about helping people who are injured through no fault of their own when working as people should not sustain injury when they are simply going to work to do their job.

Career highlights

Over the past 20 years I have helped many clients and improved their quality of life following an accident.

A few cases that stand out from these is one case where I helped a family who sadly lost their 9 month old baby in a road traffic accident. This was a very complicated and sensitive case and it was a privilege to support the family through the legal process and to take some of the pressure off them.

Another case involved a 15 year old girl that sustained serious head injury as a result of a road traffic accident which changed the course of her life. I was able to secure a settlement figure that meant she would be supported for the rest of her life and receive the care and rehabilitation she needed.

I now specialise in accidents at work and one case that stands out is a young man who suffered a digit amputation when taking part in work experience. He was unable to continue working due to the psychological impact of the accident. It was a life changing injury at the start of his working life and the settlement will have helped him receive the psychological treatment he needed.

Recognition

In 2018 I was part of a team that won Personal Injury Team of the year at the Personal Injury Awards.
