Court of Protection
Sara Khan
Paralegal
I am proud to be working as a Paralegal in the Court of Protection team in London. I place high importance on going above and beyond when helping to manage our client’s property and financial affairs.
Slater and Gordon Trust Corporation Limited (‘SGTC’) act as Professional Deputy to manage the property and financial affairs for individuals who do not have the mental capacity to manage their own property and finances, such as individuals with brain injuries. SGTC also manages Trust funds for individuals that have mental capacity, but have large sums of money due to settlement awards, such as Personal Injury Trusts.
As a COP paralegal, I support fee-earners with tasks such as appropriately investing client’s funds, property purchases, arranging insurance, managing tax, payment of bills and much more. I am extremely passionate for all individuals to have access to the same opportunities in society.
Therefore, I find this area of law very rewarding due to supporting vulnerable individuals with their everyday tasks and helping to relieve some of the stresses that property and financial affairs can present. Every day is different, and that is something I love about this role and the world of law.
The extra mile
I will be climbing Snowdon with work in June 2024 in aid of Back Up, to raise awareness for spinal cord injuries.
