Get to know Sabrina

I joined Slater and Gordon as a principal lawyer in December 2019. I support a collaborative

and open dialogue with my opponents and embrace the spirit of the APIL/FOIL Serious Injury Guide.

I have particular expertise representing individuals who have sustained traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, visual impairments and amputees. Many of my clients are deemed disabled following life changing accidents. My experience had developed my interest in disability inclusion.

I lead the Disability and Accessibility Network at Slater and Gordon which aims to support our disabled employees and customers.

I am passionate about supporting my clients back to work, and/or gaining alternative employment following a serious injury. I have accomplished a postgraduate qualification in vocational and occupational rehabilitation at the University of Salford. This qualification has enhanced my skills and knowledge in workplace strategies for health and wellbeing, and assessments and interventions for occupational and vocational rehabilitation.

Career highlights

I have a demonstrated history of working in the legal services industry in the UK, Ireland, U.S.A and Australia. I have represented seriously injured claimants from across the world from all walks of life following various types of accidents, including accidents at work, road traffic accidents and public accidents.

I have experience in complex group actions. I represented the lead claimants in the Salford Gas Explosion and the Welsh cryptosporidium outbreak.

I am very passionate about vocational rehabilitation and disability inclusion. I believe that regardless of our unique differences we deserve to be respected, supported and empowered.

Recent settlements include:

  • £6,000,000 award for a client who sustained a very serious brain injury following a road traffic accident and now needs a 24/7 care and support regime for the rest of his life.
  • £1,050,000 award for a successful business man who sustained a brain injury and orthopaedic injuries following a road traffic accident.
  • £750,000 award for a client who was left visually impaired with severe psychological trauma following an accident at work.
  • £500,000 award for a female client who suffered a serious brain injury in a road traffic collision. This matter was valued at £2,800,000 on a 100% recovery basis, however, due to life expectancy issues and complex liability arguments, a compromise was eventually reached between the parties following a joint settlement meeting.

Recognition

I am accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as a Senior Litigator.

I am also recognised by the Legal 500 for being “proactive and very supportive” of my clients.

The extra mile

I am a disability inclusion and vocational rehabilitation advocate. I am a founding member of the Business Disability Forum - Northern Network. I also provide voluntary support to service users at the Brain and Spinal Injury Centre in Salford.
